So I'm plugging the Triple-X recipe for sweet stout on page 167 of Classic Styles into Beersmith. JZ asks for the base malt to be 7.2 pounds of English Pale Ale LME (3.5 L). The closest option Beersmith has is US Pale LME, which is 8 L, and it's throwing the color way off. The only extract that Beersmith has that is 3.5 L is US Pilsner LME. What am I missing?
Also, JZ asks for .5 pound of Pale Chocolate Malt at 200 L, but the lightest chocolate malt that Beersmith has is 350 L.
Are these just holes in Beersmith's database that I need to fill by adding my own info, or are these two malts extremely rare? If they are rare, any suggestions for substitutions would be appreciated. I'm not too concerned with the color, but I do want to try and brew something true to style for once.
