Send some over here, Bill, and I will personally deliver it to the spill... It's the least I could do to help.

Good news from the White House this morning 75% of the oil spilled is no longer in the water. They don't know where it went, but since crude oil is compressed plant material, it makes sense that it breaks down quickly, especially in warm water. Glad this is almost over and cleanup is progressing much faster than your projection. Ending the drilling moratorium and allowing the folks in the gulf coast to get back to work will help them get back to normal.

Unfortunately all those rigs have moved on or are on their way out of the gulf soon. So even if the completely-unnesscesary-moratorium is lifted tommorrow, we're still fucked, the rigs that left aren't gonna just pull up and come back.

Most people don't realize how fucked this really is to us. I am fortunate that my business deals exclusively with land drilling, but for many of my family, friends, and neighbors this is crushing.

For example, my best friend works for an oil field rental tool supply outfit, they rent out pipe and tools to drilling rigs, the moratorium took away 21 out of the 30 rigs that they were supplying over-night.
This means 9 of those rigs were far enough along drilling that they were allowed to continue, the workers from the other 21 were sent home.
My friends job is in jeopardy, and many of his coworkers were already laid off.
That means that those guys who were eating lunch at the mom and pop plate lunch stop across the street are taking a huge hit, multiply that by a fuckton.
There are at least 100 of these rental tool shops within 20 miles of my house.
This is the same for our fishing industry, if nobody's fishing, nobody's buying bait, ice, fuel.....
I really care about the environment, especially that of my beautiful wetlands, and I want to protect them as much as I possibly can, but this moratorium is not doing what it is intended to do.

My father has been in the oilfeild all of his life as well as his father, now i'm in it and a shitload of my friends as well. This is a huge disaster that could have been avoided, they knew that the BOP was malfunctioning but they pressed on, then someone really fucked up on the cement job causing the blowout. This is not something that is gonna get fixed by shutting down drilling. I promise you, if any of these companies have any issues right now they are fixing them.
We all fish and swim in the gulf down here, I'm not biased b/c I work for big oil, this moratorium is bullshit, and most people have no idea what it's doing to us.

Sorry for the rant but this fucking sucks
I really hope that my gulf can come back from this horrible disaster, I can't imagine not being able to take my kids out there.
