What if brewer's code was adopted by society as a whole

The basic brewer's code is "Don't be a Dick"
It would be wonderful if the larger population was like that.
3 out of 4 folks arrested last night in Oakland were not residents of that city.
I support the act of peaceful protest, but just like the international WTO and G10 conferences, there are always events like this that bring out the dicks and they go and start vandalizing things. I'm not clear how breaking into someone's business and stealing things has any relevance to a jury's verdict to a tragic event.
