I like Brian Hunt. I agree with him on the way he brews. The only thing that matters is that you like what you brew. Everything else is a popularity contest. He is doing what he loves to do and it covers his bills.

I have been lucky enough to drink several of his beers, all great.

I thought that some of the people on the chat acted like dicks to him because he was challenging their preconceived ideas of the value of just following styles, Dr Scott and Jamil included. It was like the felt threatened that someone didn't agree with what they believed in.

It’s the craftsman vs. the artist thing all over again. It's like Sinatra and the Rat Pack criticizing how Jimi Hendrix played the guitar. Give me a fucking break. They both kick ass.

I'm off the archives to download that show and listen to it again.
Thanks for bringing this up, OZ.

Go back to being stoned, governor. I'll give it another listen, and Brian is about a million percent more successful than me, but I was ready to turn it off when he said something resembling "If you want a hefeweizen, go to Bavaria!".

He's a successful professional brewer, I'm not, but listening to him was kind of like rubbing a cat the wrong way - in my opinion (which we've already established isn't worth much).

Just finished listening to the show again. My comments were off base.

Dr Scott, I take it back. You were much more tolerant now that I’m sober. I was on the chat and I remember people trashing Brian.

That same night I also seem to remember my girlfriend telling me that I should not sleep on the kitchen floor and that I should get my drunken ass to bed.

I think that the "matter of fact" way he talks can be a little deceiving at times. The guy does make some good points about styles etc.. and should be taken as one persons opinion. When I first listened to that show I thought " man what kinda chip does this guy have on his shoulder." But after listening to what he was saying instead of how he said it, I realized that he was making perfect sense. I need to re-listen to that show now, since I cant remember if I agreed with what he said.
