I keged my beer at about 60F. I racked to the keg, set the Presure to 28 PSI and shook it for a min or two. Then I let it fill to 28 PSI and placed it into a 38 F cooler where it will sit for 3 days. What would you guess will happen. The only reason I ask is right when I get home I will throw it in the car and head to Lake Tahoe for a party and I dont have the time to futz aroung with it.
Any guesses as to where it might end up?????

It'll carbonate but no one can guess how much. Better than being flat though!

The 60F start won't help your carbonation any, but 3 days at 38F with 28psi and you're gonna be foaming like a little bitch... bleed that thing before you pour and be ready to wait your head out a little.

Nonetheless, much better than flat beer and when camping at the Lake what more could a brother want?

Seriously check the pressure it'll only take 2 minutes (hook up the hose with the tank off and get a reading... worst case add a bit more... you should have ~10-12psi

Look at a carbonation table (pressure vs. temp vs. CO2 level) and set the pressure to match the temp (38F) and CO2 level you want in the beer. Then you just wait and it will carbonate over time.

My money is definetly on "OVER" carbed if you let it sit at 28psi and cold for 3 days.

That temp. and Co2 level is off the chart. It's my guess that you'll be overcarbonated. You should bring down that pressure a good deal. Almost every good beer text has the chart, look it up.

my guess is that he set the pressure to 38 but took off the feed... the co2 will dissolve and not stay at 38 but go down to a more gentile 12 or so... depends on several factors though.

If he is leaving the tank on and at 38 then he will have a foam fountain.
