Good morning,
A few quick and easy questions. If one has say,… over carbonated his keg... what is the best way to get it down. I have been shaking and blowing off the pop valve. Is there a better way?

Second, I place a keg in a 40 F box, set the CO2 per the chart and leave it for a month will it "over" carbonate? What if the keg is half full?

I know to reduce the carbonation in my beer I do it slowly, the same way I do with putting it in. Crank the co2 pressure down to the desired rate and then just release some of the pressure in the keg. Repeat once or twice a day and monitor the affects. The co2 in the beer will equalize to the pressure in the head space. There is no need to shake the beer to release the co2.

From the testing Ive done I have not seen beer keep absorbing co2 when you leave it on. From what my thinking is if you have c02 in the head space the liquid will only obsorb enough to equalize the amount in the head space. Once equalization is reached I dont see how it can keep going. I do remember on one of the shows someone said it would keep obsorbing. I belive it was a cider maker who said that.

Remember that the greater the head space, the faster that the CO2 will come out of solution. Translated to language that most of us drunks can understand, pour yourself a glass everytime you release pressure.
