Secondary in Corny ??

Hey:

This is my first batch using a kegging set-up and I'm a little fuzzy first about using a corny as a secondary. I racked from my primary carboy to a secondary corny and not sure if the regulator is right.
After racking I hooked up the CO2 to purge the O2. How do you dial in the CO2 amount you want? After turning on the gas the regulator reads around 100 psi. I'm not sure at this point how you dial it in. I have a dual regulator and a check valve attached to it.
Also, with the corny being used as a secondary do I have to bleed off pressure? And doesn't doing that defeat the need for keep the lid sealed?
One more...transferring using a jumper set-up. If I can figure out how to using the regulator at what pressure do you use with a jumper to transfer?

There should be a screw with a lock nut right between the two dials. Turn it to the left to drop the pressure which you should do.

100 psi is very large (I think the kegs are only rated to 80), I only sit around 10 or 15 psi

To jump :

you need two out fittings. and connect the out ports of the two tanks (the empty and the full)

Attach the CO2 to the in fitting of the keg with beer apply the gas and lift the safety on the keg with out beer. Beer will flow from one keg to the other.

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking I have the wrong gauge. It's 0-160 but I see others that read at lower psi.
Is that part of my problem? Is the screw on the red part of the regulator the adjustment screw.
I've included a pic of the regulator to give an idea what I'm working with. When I turn the gas off from the tank the gauge registers a lower pressure, I'm guessing what in the keg.
Can I just bleed off the keg till the pressure drops to the needed level?
I'm thinking I can leave the tank on to force carb the beer if it's jumping to over 100 psi and I can adjust it down.
I'm a newbie at this and don't want to send a keg thru the roof. That would end my brewing days with my SWMBO :)

see that nut dead centre on the red thing thats out of focus? That adjusts the pressure on the top dial (reading about 25 psi) Thats the psi in your keg

The dial on the left is measuring the psi in your tank (time to fill it. It will be way up there when you get it filled)

Got it dialed down to 25psi.
Tanks full. Just had it off in the pic.
So I need not worry about any fermentation still going on in the secondary?
Just keep it under pressure then move to the bright tank in a couple weeks?

I normally let the fermentation stop before putting it in corny, then force carbonate. How close were you to finishing?

The problem is that you have a welding regulator, not a dispensing regulator. Keep it below 20 psi. A keg is rated at 130 psi, but I wouldn't try it at that pressure, if I were you.

It got down to 1.014, so it's just about done. I'm using the secondary to dry hop.
