Around where I live, if we go out to eat, many times Bass Ale is the only choice there is unless you want a lager. That's kind of what started all this. After a closer look, the label says brewed and bottled in Luton, England, which is nowhere near Burton on Trent. A couple of the old brewers still brew at Burton Bridge Brewery there. Yes, thanks to craft brewing, my taste buds have developed and I may expect more from the beer I drink than I used to, but Bass Ale is still a way different beer than it used to be. They may be using the same recepie that they used to, but I still suspect it's the water. INBEV is the distributor. I think I'll just have a homebrew! :jnj
