750 ml. caged & corked bottle. No expiration date, but then again, none is needed. 2003 original batch. $14.70 at a local spot. Poured out a bright amber color, with a massive, rocky, lumpy head. The head slowly subsided to a thick mat of lace on the top of the beer. Aromas are mostly of sweet caramel malts, and alcohol. Spicy hops make an appearance towards the end. Tastes very sweet. Not fully attentuated yet. Very viscous, and thick bodied. Granted, there was a lot of malts used in making this beer, but I believe the yeast died out before it had finished it's job. Very warming to the belly upon swallowing. Coats the tongue well, almost like cough syrup. A fair beer at best right now, it may age into something wonderful...in 10 years. This bad boy definitely needs about a decade of good aging before it'll be ready to enjoy.

So I finally found this. It has an 06 bottle date on it. Anyone have a suggestion on how long to age it? I figured I'd drop it in the keggerator and try to forget about it.

Stash it forever. the idea of the beer is better than the beer. Too damn sweet and malty. I find it nearly impossible to drink. Smells good though. I'll stick with the 60 and the 90 on occasion. TFs description of it was dead on. Cough Syrupy texture.

+2 I almost feel the same about the 90 minute. The 120 is just over the top sweet. The more I drink beers from other breweries, the more I dislike DogFish Head's offerings. Even now when I pick up a 60 minute 6er, I find myself saying, "I would rather be drinking a Stone IPA." I may also be crucified for this, but I think there are MUCH better brewers out there than DFH. Just MHO and taste. There is a rumor that DFH uses Ringwood yeast, and that might explain a lot of things for me. I wouldn't put it in the kegerator either. Find a cool spot to stash it, so it can attenuate out over time(I assume they don't filter the yeast in this beer). Treat it like a barleywine.

60 minute meh..
90 minute I like, ONCE IN A WHILE... but YUMMI... and I'm not a huge hop fan, go figure
120 minute, never had it.

P.S. Lufah you still looking for bottlecaps for your little art project? I have a crapload I've been saving if you want them.

Tell you what Lufah ... I'm willing to "take one for the team" and you can just package that little bad boy up and send on to me for "safekeeping."

The alcohol limit here in Georgia is 14% so 120 can't be brought in (legally). We have 60 and 90 Minute here and I sometimes like making a "75 Minute" (1/2 60 Minute and 1/2 90 Minute).

In my opinion, Dogfish Head's forte (please pardon the pun) are the special brews ... Red and White, Black and Blue, Midas Touch, Festina Peche. And I'd really like to try the Blood Orange Hefeweisen. The IPA line is made differently than anyone else's so it's a little tougher to compare apples to oranges. Or maybe more like oranges to tangarines.
