Or get a stainless braid and do batch sparging. :jnj

I did the same as you did. Then I used a dremil cutting wheel at 1/2 inch spacing. Now it kicks ass.
You have to few slots and they are to wide.
Is it beer :30 yet?

The old Zymico screen has never done me wrong and I just add some more grains to the grain bill to make up any loss of efficiency with batch sparging and sometimes no sparge brew days. Love Beersmith. I have my efficiency numbers to +/- 0.5% in which Beersmith uses with all the pertinent brew calcs for recipe generation.

I have noticed that 3/32" is the width or hole diameter that most false bottoms use. FYI.

you want them facing down but the bottom of the cooler is lower than the opening for your ball valve so you will have some dead space in there. Tilting the back of your cooler up will help. Make sure you keep track of water in and wort out. I think the assumed loss is a gal of water/10 lbs of grain. I had the same set up with copper and switched to a stainless steel braided hose and picked up a few points in efficiency.
