Re: High Gravity Beer What's The Point?

I love malty high gravity beers like barleywines, wee heavys, and russian imperial stouts. That said, these are indeed sipping beers. I have a keg of barleywine that I have been nursing for two years now. I have a glass every now and then but almost never more than one. Often I will just pour me a sample glass with 3-4 ounces and sip on that for an hour. Then I switch to something lighter.

Big beers are a nice treat, but certainly not for everyday drinking.

this right here. I have my share of big brews (14.22% BW suckas!) and quite a few low to mid gravity brews as well. I have a big brew once & a while, but usually enjoy low to mid brews.

I like dry stout when I want a dark beer that I can session.
